First of all thank you so much for all the explanations and infromation provided during the second F2F session.
I am imane SADAOUI from morocco and I would say that the integrated border management and EU migration policy affect morocco in many ways. As explained during the course there are positives and negatives forms of migration. Morocco is a country which displays both sides through illegal migration to european countries such as Spain, Italy...and legal migration searching knowledge and high quality of studies. The geographical position of morocco makes it a country which serves as a bridge between Africa and Europe so not only moroccans are concerned by migration but also africans and asylum seekers coming from Syria holding the hope to reach Europe.
Morocco has a longstanding cooperation with the EU that shows limited feasibility and appropriateness of a security-driven approach. For instance in 2000, the Commission obtained the mandate to negotiate an EU Readmission Agreement EURA with Morocco. After many rounds of negotiations that produced no agreement, they were finally discontinued. However, the cooperation with Morocco on border surveillance and control has often been seen as more productive.
In addition, the EU policy discourse and measures encourages third countries to be able to offer reception and protection to asylum seekers. Morocco again has embarked on a new migration policy with the official stated aim to regularise and integrate a number of irregular migrants.
Thank you again,
